Guatemalan Cuisine Week

This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)

September 15th is Guatemala’s Independence Day, so TFK will dedicate this week to Guatemalan cuisine. We will share recipes, historical facts and information about some of our artisan candies, beverages, heritage dishes and staple foods.

Our local cuisine is full of flavors and scents that to all Guatemalans represent family and friends, these are the dishes that have been passed down from generation to generation and that are prepared for family gatherings and holidays. We have also prepared a few Guatemalan fusion dishes, such as Chicken with Orange and Pepitoria, and Roselle Cupcakes.

On previous posts, we have presented other local and fusion recipes, which include Vanilla Cupcakes with Roselle Buttercream, Salsa Verde, Roselle Rosemary Chicken, Figs in Star Anise Syrup, Guatemalan Chocolate Cupcakes, Tortilla SoupGuatemalan Hot Chocolate, Caramelized Plantains, and Grilled Chicken with Bean Salad .

We hope you enjoy reading about our local food and that you try some of our recipes in your home!

Buen provecho!
