Deconstructed Hot Dog

We were having hot dogs for lunch, and I wanted my baby to try some, but as she is only a year and a half old, she couldn’t possibly handle a hot dog. So it occurred to me to make her a Deconstructed Hot Dog. She loved it.

Deconstructed Hot Dog

Serves 2

Ingredients:
1 hot dog bun
1 hot dog sausage
1 avocado
Ketchup
Mayonnaise
Mustard

Preparation:

  1. Open your hot dog bun, take one half and press it down with a small round cookie cutter to get small round shapes.
  2. Slice your hot dog sausage in half, slightly brown it over medium high heat in a small skillet or on the grill. Slice it.
  3. Take two slices of avocado, and you can dice them, or make fun shapes with it if you happen to have some very small pastry molds. I just bought some to make fondant decorations, so I made flower shapes with the avocado.
  4. On a small plate, arrange the bread circles, the sliced sausage and avocado and add three small dollops of ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard.
