McDía Feliz (McHappy Day)

This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)

Every year, McDonald’s Guatemala has a great charity event, called McDía Feliz (or, McHappy Day). Today, marks the 12th year they are making this happen: The sales total will go to support several charity institutions that focus on mental and physical health of kids around the country.

This year those charities are: Both Ronald McDonald Houses, a 1,500 hearing aid donation, building 50 houses for families living in extreme poverty and donations for Unicar, to allow heart surgeries for kids and the maintenance of the family lounge of that association.

So at The Foodies’ Kitchen we encourage you to skip cooking and get some BigMacs today! Let’s help some kids!

Another option would be to skip the nasty McTummy Ache meal and just donate to one of the charities. At least then the donation would really go to where it’s supposed to be and you wouldn’t be supporting a company like McDonalds. Just a thought…

    Hi Melissa!

Yes, another way would be to donate straight to the charity. This program has been running so many years and we’ve been able to see the positive outcome of it, so we though it would be a good post for today. Thanks for your comment!
