A little late, but still on time… kind of! 🙂 This month we’re featuring strawberries, an excellent source of Vitamin C, that’s a well-known immunity booster and fast-working antioxidant. Those antioxidants help to reduce inflammation of the joints.
The fibre in strawberries help slow the absorption of sugars (i.e. glucose) in the blood, so adults who are managing diabetes can add (in moderation) strawberries in their diet. And since they have low calories (about 28 per serving), are fat-free and low in both sodium and sugar, they are a much healthier snack.
