This recipe is not only delicious, but ideal for a family lunch. Each person can add the toppings they want to their rice bowl! And, aside from being full of flavor we love that it is a healthy dish.
Our version is made with brown rice, so the amount of liquid and rice is appropriate for this type of rice, specifically the brand we use at home. See your package’s instructions when cooking your rice, some brands may require 3 cups of liquid per 1 cup of rice, others 2 ½ cups of liquid per cup of rice… and the cooking time is 60 minutes. If you prefer, you can use white rice, just make sure you modify the liquid quantities to 2 cups of liquid per 1 cup of rice, and the cooking time would be cut to 20-25 minutes.
We recommend you use lean ground beef. You can also use ground chicken, or mix half ground pork meat with half ground beef. This is a very versatile recipe that allows you to accommodate yours and your family’s preferences.
At Almacenes Siman you will find a wide range of products, and we absolutely loved this little red pot 😍, perfect size to prepare a cup of brown rice, we also found a set of serving spoons and the square bowls where we served our rice. Don’t be afraid of buying dishes of unusual shapes!
Last, but not least, you can choose some, or all of the suggested ingredients from the toppings list, so you can prepare your bowl according to your taste. This is a recipe perfect for trying new toppings. We really hope you give this one a try, you’ll love it!
