Little Foodies: Strawberry & Basil Slushy

This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)

We’ve been having sunshine and rain, which has made our region’s climate very hot and humid lately, so what we have been craving are cold and refreshing beverages, and with that in mind we bring you a delicious strawberry slushy recipe with an unusual ingredient: basil.  We used the one known as white basil, which has longer and thinner leaves.  There is another type of basil which has shorter and thicker leaves, we don’t recommend using that one.

This recipe is very easy to prepare, and it is also a healthy beverage to offer the kids!  It doesn’t have any sugar in it, we used honey to sweeten it. You can also use agave. When adding the ingredients into your blender, add the ice in batches. If it is necessary you can add a little water to get the blender going.

The result will be a thick, flavorful slushy you will love!
