Where is the time going? Seems just a few days ago that we just began August. For some of our readers, this weekend marks the official end of summer, and coincidentally enough this weekend finally started raining here in Guate (some rain that we have expecting for quite a few months already), so it’s a goodbye-sunny-days for us too. For us it has been a busy month, with some site improvements to make it load faster, more articles and recipes and… a brand new newsletter called Notes from The Foodies Kitchen.
We are launching our first newsletter! We are thrilled with the response of every single one of you. We moved our blog subscribers to the newsletter so you can get a much prettier version of it, instead of the automated newsletter that showed both languages. We will be sending it once a month to avoid inbox overcrowding, and it will include links, news and much more. Expect to receive it within the first 5 days of each month. Have you subscribed yet? If not, you can do so by clicking here or the picture above.
September is the month of Guatemala’s independence day (September 15th), so we love to feature some of our Guatemalan heritage. In this case, this is Pan Dulce, sweet bread that we usually have with our afternoon coffee, a true staple of Guatemalan cuisine. We are looking for a traditional recipe to share with you, specially with those fellow guatemalans who live abroad!
So in the meantime, we have the next best thing to pan dulce… a Pan Dulce wallpaper! You can download the complete September 2014 Wallpaper Collection for your Desktop, iPad, iPad Mini and iPhone (all Retina and iOS7 friendly).
If you have a Guatemalan recipe you would like to see featured here, leave it on the comments, contact us through Social Media or email us! We would love to hear your suggestions!
