Guatemalan Recipe Collection

This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)

We have gathered our collection of Guatemalan and Guatemalan inspired dishes in honor of our Independence Day, which we will celebrate this September 15th.   We hope our friends from abroad will get inspired to try some of these recipes themselves.

Some of them are not typical Guatemalan dishes, but they use local staples such as Rosa de Jamaica (Roselle), Pepitoria, Guatemalan Chocolate (Chocolate de tablilla), Mangoes, and… wait!  I just realized we don’t have a recipe using our delicious Guatemalan coffee. We will definitely correct that soon.

Meanwhile, we hope we can entice your palate with these recipes and also, remind Guatemalans living in other countries about the flavors of their homeland.

Enjoy!

Feliz Dia de la Independencia, Chapines!

It made me sooooo hungry! I absolutely adore the tamalitos de chipilín and my favorite Guatemalan dish is Kak-ik… yum! Will try the tamalitos recipe for sure.
