Little Foodies: Snowman Cupcakes

This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)

With the Holidays approaching, all the decorations start to come up, snowmen make their appearance (even though we don’t get snow here), twinkle lights are all over town, and the bakeries have all kinds of goodies available. And with the holidays we also have a bunch of family and friends gatherings. At home, we have kids on end-of-year vacations. These cupcakes are perfect for the kids to make. No matter if it’s during a quiet afternoon at home, or if there’s a small gathering and you want to have a special activity for the kids. It will keep them entertained for a good while and they will have a blast.

Little Foodies: Snowman Cupcakes

These kind of activities do not need to be a burden nor does it mean that you have to be in the kitchen preparing everything before hand. We got you covered. Head over to the supermarket and get a tube of frosting, your favorite cupcakes (Kristen loves vanilla cupcakes), coconut, chocolate and butterscotch chips, and the chocolate candy.

Remember that you can download all the Little Foodies recipes at the end of each post, and collect them all so you can prepare the recipes whenever you want. All the recipes are thought of so kids can easily follow the instructions, including setting up the ingredients and utensils. Our friends from Almacenes Siman have not only kitchen utensils available, but also great christmas decor, we found the small white christmas trees, the light blue placemats and snow globes that you can see in our pictures.

Snowman Cupcakes

Recipe adapted from Pinterest Ideas

Ingredients:
Vanilla or Chocolate Cupcakes
vanilla Frosting
Shredded Coconut
Chocolate chips
Butterscotch chips
Chocolate candy (orange M&Ms)

Preparation:

  1. Spread enough frosting on top of each cupcake so it’s completely covered.
  2. In a cereal bowl, add the shredded coconut and have both the chocolate and butterscotch chips nearby.
  3. Taking the cupcake from its base, dip into the coconut so its frosted top is completely covered. Do it with a little pressure, moving the cupcake both forward and backward, so the coconut sticks to the frosting,
  4. Place a butterscotch chip or half of an orange chocolate candy on the middle as the nose, then place two chips on top as the eyes, and finally add three or four chips for the mouth.
