15 years of The Foodies’ Kitchen

Fifteen years ago, The Foodies’ Kitchen was born from our friendship and our love of food. Kitty was living in New York, and Helga was at home in Guatemala with a toddler, cooking family meals and experimenting in the kitchen. Our daily chats often turned into photo swaps of what we were cooking and baking, shared through the computer screen. One day, we asked ourselves, ‘Why not start a blog and share these recipes with everyone?’ And so, The Foodies’ Kitchen came to life.
We began by sharing the recipes that meant something to us — the ones that reminded us of growing up in the kitchen. Kitty learned from both her grandmothers, whose love for cooking was passed down through generations, while Helga was the self-taught cook, spending hours with cookbooks and glued to TV cooking shows, eager to create meals that would impress the family. Over the years, our recipes have evolved, our photography and styling skills have grown, and we’ve found a deeper connection with the incredible community that shares our love for good food.
Today, as we celebrate 15 years of The Foodies’ Kitchen, we’re grateful for every recipe, every comment, and every moment spent in the kitchen. Here’s to many more years of cooking, sharing, and connecting through food. Thank you for being part of our journey!
