Little Foodies: Snacks in a Cup

A lot of us need to take our kids to extracurricular activities right after we pick them up from school, and although we pack them lunch, by the time school is out they are hungry again, and will need a boost of energy, especially if their afternoon activity is some kind of sport.

Little Foodies: Snacks in a Cup

With that in mind, we bring you this idea for snacks in a cup which they can munch on in the car and is light enough so that they won’t feel a heavy tummy that could affect them in their activity. There is a savory option that consists of hummus and vegetable strips. If your kids don’t like hummus, you can try a dip they do like.  For a sweet version, you can offer yogurt in the flavor they prefer, we chose strawberry for ours, followed by a thin layer of dark chocolate chips, chopped fruit and a final topping of their favorite cereal.

We had our photo shoot at Playground by Almacenes Siman  where we found these cups with a hermetic lid, perfect for these types of snack. You can make them during the day while the kids are in school so they are ready to go when it’s time to pick them up. We also found a container for their water and a very useful lunch tote from Pioneer Woman with a water bottle for mom, so she can also stay hydrated and take a snack for herself while she waits for the kids.
