Little Foodies: Kids Snacks for Family Outing

Summer is in full swing in Guatemala, which means family outings on the weekend. Kids always get hungry, but they would rather eat something quick from a small variety offered to them, so they can continue playing. With this in mind, we have an idea of simple snacks you can take on your next day outdoors.

At Almacenes Siman we found this container with divisions which was perfect for our idea. We used each division to hold a different type of food: sweet, savory, fruits and veggies.

For the sweet option, we made a trail mix which includes pretzels, chocolate candy, marshmallows, raisins and cereal. You can swap any of the ingredients for ones that your kids prefer, such as dried cranberries instead of raisins, or you can also include nuts.

For the savory option we used crackers and turkey ham, and we also included some strawberry and watermelon kebabs, some carrot and celery with a yogurt dipping sauce. This was made with plain yogurt, lime juice, salt and pepper to taste. The simpler, the better and kids love this dipping sauce. We love it because it’s a healthier option than ranch dressing.

Our photoshoot was held at Playground in Almacenes Siman, where we found our container with divisions and cover, as well as handy bowls for mixing our ingredients and a handy spatula to mix it all with. We also found a lunch tote with matching thermos and snack bag, ideal for taking along packaged snacks.

Todo se ve lindo pero es antiderrames? .. El problema es que cuando se mete a la lonchera se convierte en un fiambre.
